Sugarite State Park
Sugarite State Park is just over thirty minutes from Trinidad and offers solid mountain biking, particularly the Opportunity Trail. This 17 mile circuit tours the entire park and finishes with two long descents.
The lower trails are not difficult, but the climbs from the lake on either bluff are steep and occasionally technical. Cool geology and also can be ridden as a shuttle-able descent down San Francisco Pass.
New Mexico state park pass is required and payable at the parking area for $5/day.
